Calorie Restriction for Longevity

Calorie restriction is an approach which involves the consumption of calories by about 30 percent lower than usual, and still maintaining the normal level of minerals, vitamins and the required nutrients. Apart from the genetic manipulations, it can be said that calorie restriction is the only way to adopt for extension of life. A lot of research was been done on the effects that diets have on the body and the results have finally showed up. Few of the studies have indicated that the ageing rate is not fixed at a certain level, and manipulations can be very well done there.

Diets which involve lower calorie have been shown in many animals to affect the molecular pathways which are most prone to being involved in the many adverse life style-caused human adverse conditions. The researchers who did some work on the effects of diet on human beings also claimed that restriction of calorie can be more beneficial than exercises for preventing diseases related to age. Several tests have concluded that animals who follow a restricted diet have a good health when they approach the old age. In fact, calorie restriction can help in identifying the anti-ageing mechanisms in the body.

Many Americans above the age of 65 will live for double their age over the next twenty-five years, as per the data of the government census. At that time, about one-fifth of the population will comprise of seniors. Some of the gerontologists are pushing the government to spend an annual amount of about $3 billion for delaying the start of diseases which mainly occur in the old age. If the government does that, it would also lay the foundation stone for a healthy country.

The wave of demography entering the sixties is huge, and it will, in all likelihood, only increase the occurrence of diseases like heart diseases, diabetes, etc. The best way to combat them properly is the slowing down of ageing. Science will take some time to do this, though. The phenomenon of ageing is complicated. But scientists all over the world are trying hard to make animals life a very long life.

It was during the 1930?s when the nutritionists found out the mice consumed about 30% lesser calories that humans, and lived about 40 percent longer than human beings. Also, they were more active physically, and they hardly had any diseases in old age. This experiment was conducted in other species as well, and found to be true. In most of the instances, low calorie not only helps in getting a longer life, but in combating diseases as well.

It is now known that the effects of caloric restriction are due to the fact that it switches on sirtuins such as the Sirt 1 enzyme. Transmax and Bioforte resveratrol can switch on these genes also but without the misery associated with life long calorie restriction. Who wants to live longer if it means being constantly famished?

  1. Since taking Bioforte I have lost weight and went back to my normal shape. I don’t crave junk food and sweets like I use to before I discovered Bioforte and its great properties. Biotivia makes great products.
I also take Bioflu and I don’d get sick anymore. If the resveratrol also makes me live longer then that is great, but I know I am living healthier now. Thank you Biotivia!
