Biotivia has signed an agreement to collaborate with Dr. Roberto Gambari, head of the Thal Lab at the University of Ferrara, to test the ability of Transmax to induce fetal hemaglobin cells in Thalasemmia patients. In vitro studies have shown a remarkable ability of Transmax to induce new red blood cells in the blood of human patients. This is highly significant as the alternative these sufferers have is a lifetime of whole blood transfusions and costly highly toxic pharmaceuticals.
